October is American Pharmacists Month.

American Pharmacists Month is an annual celebration to highlight the importance of the pharmacy profession. Pharmacists are an integral part of the healthcare team. As pharmacists, we do more than ensure the safe distribution of medications; we provide patient-oriented healthcare to the community through health screenings, counseling sessions, medication reviews, immunizations, research, and education. Our profession continues to evolve as we expand our role in patient care. It is important to continue to educate our patients, the community, other health professionals, and especially our policy makers about what we do as pharmacists.
